Casa da Marquinhas arose from the desire of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Albano da Cruz and Maria da Assunção not to let the history of their ancestors and their own roots be forgotten. These are clearly evident in the way in which, even today, they relive the moments they spent in the village of Lama de Ouriço, more precisely, in the house that belonged to their beloved grandparents and great-grandparents.
Casa da Marquinhas was built in the mid-17th century and was acquired by the family in 1937. Since then, it has undergone several expansions to accommodate the sixteen children of the couple Albano and Maria.
There were many difficulties, but the moments, stories and experiences of this large family were so memorable for everyone that we could not let this rich past die.
Thus, the need arose to preserve this past, telling it and sharing it with all those who want to visit us, taking the opportunity to enjoy our hospitality, as well as our regional products and services.
